Key to age determination of deer, fallow deer, roe deer, mouflons and wild boar
Management of game populations requires hunters to constantly improve their hunting skills. Of these, knowing how to determine the age of slaughtered game is an important issue for every hunter. This applies not only to selectors who are authorized to shoot male deer, but also to other hunters, for whom assessing the age of harvested wild boar or female deer is becoming increasingly important in the context of implementing the principles of structural shooting.
To meet this demand and the training needs of courses for selectors, as well as novice hunters, our publishing house has developed The Key to Age Determination of Deer, Fallow Deer, Roe Deer, Wild Boar and Mouflons. The book presents in an accessible way:
- the development of the dentition based on color photographs of the teeth of deer mandibles with a description of the characteristic features that allow an accurate assessment of age,
- several methods of determining the age of wild boars on the basis of the degree of development of the periphery and the dentition of warblers, throughbreds and sows,
- determining the age of moufflons on the basis of the number of notches on the helices of rams.
Book format A5, full color, soft cover, 53 pages.
